Herb & Tao’s creation resulted from the founder’s journey to reclaim health following emotional and physical trauma. She believes God led her to the solution: to remove toxicity from the body, supply the body with much needed nutrients, and promote energetic balance. Her experience led her to study Traditional East Asian Medicine while her nature has led her to specialize in women’s, infants’, and children’s health. Health is not a destination; it is a lifelong journey for us all.
Ja’Nelle Jefferson is a licensed acupuncturist in Illinois and a NCCAOM diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2018 and immediately founded Herb & Tao Acupuncture and Wellness.
She is a natural problem solver questioning why things work or don’t work and then seeking a solution. Her love of herbal medicine stemmed from spending 6+ years as a nutritional sales consultant where she immersed herself in study of natural supplements and personal care items. She is sought after for advice on natural solutions for the body and home including supplements, essential oils, body care, household products and now acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She uses this knowledge to curate specific items for the Natural Apothecary.
Prior to her natural health days, Ja’Nelle received her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2002 and worked as an office manager, administrative, and executive assistant. In her free time, she loves spending time in the sun at the beach, riding her bicycle, attending various shows, and visiting with her family and friends.

After only five minutes on the table, the acute depression resolved. I was shocked since nothing about my situation had changed, but I felt more able to handle my feelings.
